Central Illinois’s only comprehensive group-model home birth practice.
After being driven underground and fighting for the past 40 years, Illinois professional midwives were finally welcomed back to the fold as fully licensed practitioners in 2022 after the Illinois Midwifery Bill was passed into law!
But, when you outlaw a profession, you destroy it. Knowledge, training, professional networks; all gone. That’s not something that’s comes back easily. It must be built, daily, brick-by-brick. It takes an enormous amount of time, effort, and sacrifice. That’s exactly what Hannah at Beautiful Things has been doing her entire career. Hannah sat in the room as Gov. JB Pritzker signed the Midwifery Bill into law, and continues her fight to build back the industry in Danville, Vermilion County, and all of East Central Illinois.
Now, she’s proud to welcome her former students, now colleagues, into East Central Illinois’s first and only professional midwifery group practice! Read on to learn more about the team, and industry, being built right here, right now.

Hannah Landis, MS, CPM, IBCLC
Owner, Midwife
Hi, my name is Hannah. I’m a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) licensed in Illinois (LCPM) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) serving communities in East Central Illinois such as Danville, Champaign-Urbana, Decatur, Hoopeston, Tuscola, Mattoon, Monticello, Mahomet and dozens of smaller rural communities in Illinois and Indiana.
Helping enable people to have the prenatal, birth, and early childhood experiences that they desire is my ultimate passion! I’ve helped hundreds of mothers and parents have the outcomes they seek while providing safe, trusted standards of care.
To complement my passion for nutrition and preventative care, I also hold a Masters Degree in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology from UIUC, where my area of focus was how diet and nutrition impacts pregnancy, babies, and future generations. I love nothing more than talking to clients and potential clients about achieving the birth experience they seek.

I look forward to being part of your journey and providing the care, presence, and encouragement you deserve.
